Milton Menorah Lighting

Hanukkah – and all the joy and meaning attached to it – is coming soon, including right to downtown Milton.

Chabad of North Fulton and the City of Milton invite everyone to the annual Milton Menorah Lighting, which this year will take place early the evening of Monday, December 15. That happens to be the second night of Hanukkah, the Jewish “Festival of Lights” that commemorates the rededication of a storied Jerusalem temple and how (millennia ago) a single day’s worth of oil miraculously lasted eight days.

This holiday is marked by the night-by-night lighting of a menorah, an oversized version of which will be at the upcoming Milton event. Lighting that is part of the family and community-focused festivities, which starts at 5 p.m. that Saturday. There will also be Jewish music, themed craft activities, raffles, and sweet treats like donuts and latkes. (For more info, visit www.jewishmilton.com.)

Milton’s many Jewish families are welcome to attend, as are (non-Jewish) friends and neighbors. See you there!
