The City Clerk is the City of Milton's official record-keeper, among other important duties. They are appointed by the Mayor and City Council members.

Responsibilities of the City Clerk’s Office include:

  • Recording and maintaining the City Council's official actions in "minutes"
  • Coordinating and distributing meeting agendas
  • Maintaining contracts, ordinances, resolutions, proclamations and agreements
  • Coordinating the records management and retention program for the City

The City Clerk oversees the adoption and publishing of the Code of Ordinances and facilitates the City of Milton's Municipal Elections, working closely with the Fulton County Registration & Elections Office.

AG-1 Public Input Forum

Citizens are invited to join the conversation about potential updates to Milton’s plat process and AG-1 zoning and lot development standards at a special Public Input Forum next week.

This forum is one of several opportunities for residents, property owners, and stakeholders to listen, learn, and share constructive feedback as the City evaluates possible AG-1 code updates and development standards.

The meeting will begin with a brief staff presentation offering a broad overview of rural character as envisioned in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, development trends, AG-1 lot development standards, and the specific issues being considered. The heart of the forum will be structured public comment and moderated open dialogue focused on receiving input. To allow for broad participation, comments may be time-limited.

This is not a public hearing and no decisions will be made. There will be no formal Q and A or debate. The primary goal is for City staff to listen and learn from the community. No members of Boards, Committees, or City Council will be present in an official capacity. The forum is expected to last about 1.5 hours.

Anyone may attend in person.

Additional opportunities to share input are planned, including discussion at the Planning Commission meeting that same Wednesday evening and another similar Public Input Forum in the evening in the coming weeks to accommodate different schedules. Please watch the City’s website and Facebook page for details as they are finalized.
