Safety in Action Open House

Join us on March 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in City Hall's Council Chambers to review draft conceptual designs and proposed safety improvements for Hopewell Road and Freemanville Road, both major north-south corridors in Milton. City staff and project consultants will be available to discuss the recommendations and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation, with people welcome to drop-in anytime over the 1.5 hours.

The special "Open House" is part of the City's "Safety in Action" project, a targeted, multi-faceted initiative aimed at making Milton even safer for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The Hopewell and Freemanville corridors are among the chief focal points of "Safety in Action," with the City's team having conducted  extensive analysis and road safety audits to identify opportunities to improve these heavily traveled routes. Proposed improvements focus on lowering speeds, upgrading road shoulders, reducing nighttime and deer-involved crashes, as well as providing enhancements with cyclists and walkers in mind.
