While there are excellent public servants most everywhere, as well as great places to work, we pride ourselves in being the very best of the best. According to the National Community Survey comparing cities nationwide, Milton ranked in the top 3% or better when it comes to acting in the community’s best interests, being honest and transparent, as well as confidence in Milton’s government and its direction. Most impressive of all, Milton rated No. 1 out of 385 local governments in overall service by their government’s employees. And in 2025, Milton was crowned a "National Champion" for transformation when it comes to Trust in Government. These findings are based on views of those who matter most: citizens. So not only does Milton have outstanding employees, its team works in a community that truly appreciates and embraces them.

Counselor in Training - Camp Compass

  • Type:Volunteer
  • Salary/Pay Rate:Unpaid
  • Posted Date:02/05/2026

Councelor Playing MonopolyHigh schoolers looking for something productive, gratifying, and fun to do this summer can do just that by becoming a Counselor in Training (or CIT) at Milton's Camp Compass.

Aimed at rising high school freshmen and older, CITs will work with the Camp Compass team and, in so doing, the 5-to-12-year-old campers. This may be an unpaid position but, nevertheless, those who take it on will gain valuable experience while contributing to a fun, safe, welcoming camp environment. They will also be better positioned to become full-fledged paid Counselors in subsequent years.

Camp Compass is the City's main summer day camp. Run out of the City's 137-acre Milton City Park and Preserve, it gives children the opportunity to participate in games, create arts and crafts, swim in the City Pool, or simply play in the grass behind the Community Center.
