Possible temporary online platform disruption due to IT switchover

Post Date:08/21/2024 9:37 AM
Computer Opening ScreenWhen you switch your Internet provider, you do so for the long-term benefits – and understand short-term hiccups may be part of it. That’s what should happen Thursday night (August 22) and into Friday with us in the City, potentially impacting some of our online platforms.

Public access to Milton’s CityView Web portal -- which citizens and contractors use as part of the permitting and plan review process – may be down for some or all of Friday.

Likewise, people may not be able to instantaneously access the Tyler payments portal, which can be used to electronically submit some payments to the City. There may also be minimal disruption on some GIS (i.e. online mapping) pages as well as what’s used to access City Council documents from many years ago.

It’s possible that you don’t notice anything and that City online services hum along for you just fine. Even if you do notice some issues, they should be temporary. And once next week rolls along, Milton’s online systems should be working better than ever.
