Nominate an individual or group for 'Volunteer of the Year'

Post Date:09/18/2024 2:03 PM

2.volunteers.holding.bagMilton is full of great people who do great things for our community.

And we need your help to honor them.

The City will bestow its "Volunteer of the Year Awards” this fall. It is part of our broader efforts to celebrate and nurture the selflessness, philanthropy, and kindness we see every day in Milton and that we know makes our community stronger and a better place to live.

Those who take home these honors will have gone above-and-beyond in giving their time, expertise, and effort to make a difference. By celebrating them and their spirit, we’ll recognize their valuable contributions and hopefully inspire others to similarly make a difference.

To nominate a worthy volunteer or group, go to: https://www.miltonga.gov/residents/volunteer-in-milton/volunteer-of-the-year-awards/.

On that page, you’ll see the eligibility requirements to receive either a Golden or Silver “Horseshoe of Service” individual award or the Volunteer Group of the Year accolade. For instance, winners will have volunteered within Milton city limits or participated in a Milton-based program or group. If they are part of a charitable organization, they should have exceeded its requirements. And, needless to say, whoever wins should have made a substantial or unique contribution to our community.

The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. on October 18. That will allow for sufficient time to select winners and make needed preparations ahead of our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner in early November, when the awards will be presented.

If you want to know more about these awards or volunteering in Milton, please contact Community Outreach Manager Emily Salerno at Emily.Salerno@miltonga.gov.
