Carvin' in Crabapple to bring Halloween spirit, candy, fun to downtown

Post Date:10/10/2024 3:02 PM

Carvin In Crabapple_FINALGet your boo on in the most fun, family-friendly way possible at this month’s Carvin’ in Crabapple – Milton’s signature Halloween event.

The 2024 edition will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, with the action centered at Broadwell Pavilion. There will be plenty more spooktacular activity in the form of face painting, twisted balloons, cornhole, stations for making gourd-geous crafts, bouncy inflatables, cornhole, and more.

And they wouldn’t call it Carvin’ in Crabapple if there weren’t spots set up, with tools included, where you can create cool jack-o-lanterns. (Pro tip: Bring a container or gallon-sized resealable bag if you want to save your seeds for future roasting!)

As always, everyone should bring their own pumpkin. But this year is a little different in that the Reid Casey Team – this event’s sole highest-level Great Pumpkin Sponsor – will give away 100 pumpkins to those who arrive first. Special thanks to that ace real estate group, as well as the Autumn Leaves-level sponsors from Milton Dental Town and Starfish Scholars plus The Beauty Barn (a Red Apple sponsor) for their generous support of this community event!

That’s not all. Kids can cross Broadwell Road for the Trunk-or-Treat portion of the festivities, run by the Milton Police along with Karate Atlanta Milton. (Side note to drivers: Broadwell Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from 2 to 8 p.m. that Saturday, so please plan your trips accordingly and give yourself extra time.) Bunches of businesses will + Costumed kidsbe handing out candy to superheroes, princesses, and other out-of-this-world-cutely costumed participants. A few of those will go home not just with Kit Kats and Skittles but “Best Costume” prizes; those will be announced at 5 p.m. so contenders need to get there early.

And if you want to branch out beyond Jolly Ranchers, there will be lots more to eat compliments of Alumni Cookie Dough, Eggroll Boyz, Moni’s Donuts, Pelican’s SnoBalls, the Popcorn Lady (offering cotton candy and a limited number of caramel apples), Silvas Tacos, and Williams Street Food.

But you might think: Aren’t Saturday fall afternoons for watching college football? Well, we have that covered, too. For the first time, we’ll set up a big screen and seating area for viewing, in this case, the Alabama vs. Tennessee game. (And if you’re wondering, UGA doesn’t play until 7:30 p.m.)

Sounds like a whole lot of fun, are we right? Find out yourself and join us October 19 in downtown Milton. If you have questions, feel free to email them to the City’s Community Outreach Manager Emily Salerno at Emily.Salerno@miltonga.gov.
