Free Night Hike and Campfire - with s'mores! - Nov. 8 at Birmingham Park

Post Date:10/16/2024 12:53 PM

NIGHT HIKE & CAMPFIRE FBWhen the sun goes down and the campfire heats up on November 8, there will be no better place to be than Birmingham Park.

That’s the date and location (weather permitting!) for our Night Hike and Campfire, an opportunity to enjoy nature and the company of fellow nature lovers. It’s free though participants still need to register in advance at www.miltonga.gov/NightHike. Anyone or any age is welcome, as long as they’re up for an adventure!

Starting at 6:45 p.m. by the trailhead and parking lot of the roughly 200-acre park, people with flashlights in hand (it will be dark!) will be guided by signs and people to the Old Bullpen Road meadow. There, they'll roast marshmallows and enjoy s'mores while learning about nocturnal species, bat boxes, and more.

People can set off on the "Night Hike" along the Purple and Pink trails at any point until the events wraps up before 9 p.m. that Friday. This is your chance to breathe in nature and take in the stars in one of Milton’s best nature parks.

In addition to a flashlight, everyone involved should bring a filled water bottle; they can also bring their dog, as long as he or she is leashed. This is the latest in a growing number of Outdoor Recreation opportunities led by “Ranger Jen” Young and Milton’s Parks and Recreation Department.
