If you live in Milton and suffered damage from one-time Hurricane Helene that's not covered by your insurance, help is now available.

On Friday, October 11, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that Fulton County had joined other Georgia counties in being eligible for this form of disaster assistance. Renters and homeowners can apply, and potentially be given assistance, for help with temporary lodging/displacement, home repair costs, personal property loss (like a destroyed car), or other needs caused by Helene.

People can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app, by calling 800-621-3362, or by visiting a Disaster Recovery Center. The deadline to do so for this particular storm is December 2.
