Perched in a Milton Fire truck led by the talented in-step Cambridge High marching band, Santa Claus brought the Christmas spirit this weekend to Milton, joined by upwards of 1,000 of his fellow yuletide fans at the City’s traditional holiday kickoff.
Santa’s memorable entrance Saturday was among the highlights of this year’s Christmas in Crabapple, as were opportunities to get professional pictures taken with and write letters to the big-man-of-the-moment. People packed Broadwell
Pavilion and the adjacent Broadwell Road to participate in various tis-the-season arts, crafts, and activities such as cookie decorating, face painting, bubbles, and twisty balloon art.
They also warmed up with hot chocolate sponsored by the Reid Casey real estate team, while filling up with churros and other goodies from on-site food trucks.
Music coordinated by the community-centric Milton Arts Council certainly made the day even more merry and bright (as did the sun early on). In addition to the Bears’ band, Milton High chorus members entertained the attendees with Christmas carols. So, too, did several outstanding singers who had previously made their mark in Milton Got Talent competitions.
As always, the festivities culminated with the lighting on Milton’s Christmas tree located a few steps away from the pavilion. Mayor Pro Tem Carol Cookerly had the honor of representing the City, aided by several adorable helpers.
Thank you to all the members of our awesome community for being part of this special celebration!
