After Christmas comes-and-goes, it will be time for your Christmas tree to go – with one great option being the “Chipper” that will repurpose your fine pine for free.
The City has partnered with
Casey Tree Experts for our next Bring One for the Chipper tree “recycling” event. This 2025 edition (yes, time to get a new calendar!) will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, in the Milton High School baseball parking lot (accessible at 13025 Birmingham Highway or via the
Freemanville Road entrance).
After taking off its ornaments, all people need to do is bring their tree to the Milton High lot and the “experts” will take it from there.
While you’re dropping off a past-its-prime tree, you can pick up a new young one that could soon be thriving in your yard. The City will be handing out 75 Flowering Dogwood seedlings on a first-come, first-served basis at this same event. (And you can pick up a seedling even if you don’t bring a Christmas tree.) This is part of our Plant! Milton initiative to encourage, engage, and educate on tree planting and care; to learn more, go to

Those who’d rather stay home that Saturday, or perhaps who want to support do-gooding local children, can have their tree picked up by Scouts from BSA Troop 841. They’ll pay a small fee to benefit the Troop and its activities. To learn more about and sign-up for this 24th annual pick-up fundraiser can go to
