Santa's better half shines at packed, festive Tea Party with Mrs. Claus

#Photo with Elf and Mrs. ClausSanta’s better half was the star – and scores of children basked in her glow enjoying story-time, singalongs, sweet treats, and more – at Milton’s first ever Tea Party with Mrs. Claus.

City Hall’s Council Chambers was decked out in red, green, and everything holiday in between for the special event the morning of Christmas Eve Eve (also known as December 23). Two elves, Jingles and Sprinkles, ventured from the North Pole to welcome the young guests and their parents before leading an original rendition of “Mrs. Claus is Coming to Town.”

With those magic words, the one-and-only Mrs. Claus appeared and began mingling with guests seated at tables around the room. Children enjoyed croissants and other pastries, as well as cookies compliments of Just Not The Cakes, on fine China from the Vintage Dish Girl. They could wash it down with hot chocolate, lemonade, and tea, while Boarding Pass perked up adults with coffee. The sweetest treat was the company of fellow yuletide-loving neighbors not to mention one of the season’s biggest celebrities.

In between eating and chatting, attendees could venture into an activity tent set up right outside the Chambers’ doors. There, they could create arts, make crafts (including decorating their own sugar cookies), and even have their faces painted with holiday flair.

At one point, the headliner called her young guests up to join her in front of the City Council dais to read “Mrs. Claus Takes The Reins” – a book in which she takes control to make Christmas happen. When the festivities ended, people went home with their Christmas spirits high, their bellies full, and a special ornament to forever remember the occasion.

Thank you to all who spent Monday morning with us and Mrs. Claus! Thanks to the Reid Casey real estate team for their, once again, generous sponsorship of this City event.

Last but not least, we in the City would like to wish all who celebrate a very Merry Christmas!
