The 90-day bidding window for a 39.089-acre property off Hopewell Road in central Milton opens on Thursday, March 13, with an assortment of pertinent details, answers, and documents now online for prospective buyers.

The Hopewell property was originally acquired using funds specifically designated for land acquisition, with consideration of its potential as a future active park. However, following public input and an unexpected strategic opportunity, the City identified a more suitable location on Deerfield Parkway—one that better serves our community by being closer to our larger population center.

The decision to acquire the Deerfield Parkway property was made with the clear understanding that the City would responsibly sell the Hopewell property to fund the development of this much-needed active park, demonstrating our commitment to sound fiscal stewardship and the most effective use of taxpayer dollars. 

The acreage now up for sale along Hopewell Road – south of Bethany Way and Bethany Bend – consists of cleared land, trees, and multiple structures.

The City of Milton, which owns this property, has set a reserve bid price of $5.159 million. No bids lower than that will be considered. The bidding period ends on June 11.

Potential buyers can submit questions about the property by May 16, receiving answers in return no later than May 23. They can also tour it on two dates – April 30 and May 7, unless weather or another factor prompts postponements.
