The Deerfield active park project took another step forward this week with an “open house” – another opportunity for citizens to share their thoughts on what goes into this City space and where.
Dozens of citizens came in-and-out of Milton Municipal Court last Tuesday evening to view three proposed concepts for the 24.4-acre property off Deerfield Parkway (which is between Morris Road and Webb Road). Those same plans can also be seen online at www.miltonga.gov/DeerfieldActivePark, a dedicated webpage that also contains other information on this project. Generally, all the options showed two large rectangular and four baseball fields with different variations of other features and amenities.
Attendees conversed with members of the project team, in addition to writing down and submitting their thoughts. This was the community’s latest way to help shape the look, feel, and uses of this eventual new active park in southeastern Milton.
Over the coming weeks, the concept plans will be refined in part potentially based off this week’s feedback. After that happens, the next step will be to share final alternatives with the City Council so they can ultimately choose one official concept plan – a critical milestone in the park-creation process.
