The City of Milton is meticulous about keeping track of every dollar in-and-out of our government. This happens every day, though once a year, we step back and show that movement and the numbers that matter most in a pair of financial reports.
And you can now find our latest editions of those reports online.
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) dives deep into each of Milton’s government funds including revenues, expenditures, and fund balances. That adds up to a lot of data (explained over 118 pages) detailing Milton's financial information. To see the latest ACFR, go to: https://www.miltonga.gov/home/showdocument?id=8236.
The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) showcases similar financials in the big-picture sense, but in a different format and with a different audience in mind. Using easy-to-comprehend graphics and charts, PAFR is designed so that any citizen – not just those with backgrounds in finance – can more quickly grasp the most salient numbers and trends related to City government finances. View it at: https://www.miltonga.gov/home/showdocument?id=8238.
Both of these reports document Milton finances from Fiscal Year 2024, which ran from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. They’re now featured on the City's Annual Finance Reporting webpage along with corresponding reports from previous fiscal years at https://www.miltonga.gov/government/finance/annual-financial-reporting/.
In line with its commitment to financial transparency, Milton takes great pride that efforts like these have earned positive national recognition. The Government Finance Officers Association has honored every edition ever prepared of Milton’s Popular Annual Financial Reports and Comprehensive Financial Reports – with the latter being described as “the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and … a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
