Special nature fun as Toddler Tuesday melds with Earth Day at MCPP

Post Date:04/17/2025 1:52 PM

Young people, along with the parents and guardians who love them, are invited to a special Earth Day edition of Toddler Tuesday next week at Milton City Park and Preserve.

Milton's Parks and Recreation team hosts Toddler Tuesday once a month centered in the Dinsmore Road park’s Community Center, giving children from 1-through-5 a chance to play together in a safe, fun environment while their caregivers get to talk and connect as well. The next one will be from 9 a.m. to noon, then 3 to 5 p.m., next Tuesday at no cost and with no registration required. Just show up anywhere in those timeframes and enjoy yourselves!

April 22 happens to be Earth Day, an annual celebration of the planet and opportunity to explore ways to improve it while embracing nature. So we, in the City, decided to marry the two – Toddler Tuesday and Earth Day.

During the morning (9 a.m. to 12) session, toddlers and their adults can participate in:

  • An environment-themed crafts table run by the good folks at Goldfish Swim School, who will also offer a raffle to win a month of free swim lessons
  • At 10 a.m., “Ranger Jen” Young will help children get their hands dirty planting zinnia flowers that they can later take home
  • At 11 a.m., City Arborist Sandra Dewitt will lead families on a “Leaf Scavenger Hunt” around MCPP

Hope to see toddlers and their crews there to join us in celebrating the Earth and enjoying nature.
