Get exercise, healthy snack during Trail Mix Hike at Providence Park

2025 Trail Mix Hike FB PromoWant to be healthy? Take a hike.

Want to be healthier? Enjoy feel-good snacks while you’re on that hike.

Want to do both those things in the company of fellow nature-lovers in a picturesque Milton park? Then come down to Providence Park from 10 a.m. to noon on May 31, the last Saturday in May, for our annual Trail Mix Hike.

Attendees can take the White (which is paved and ADA-accessible) and the Blue (natural surface) trails, which total 1.25 miles. (Those in wheelchairs, obviously, can stick the 0.5-mile White trail.) Along the way, they can pick up trail mix ingredients such as raisins, granola, M&Ms, and nuts. Up to you whether you eat them right there, package them into a take-home Trail Mix, or something in between. This walk is self-guided, though “Ranger Jen” Young, her fellow Parks and Recreation team members, and others will be on if you have questions and make sure the trail mix ingredients are stocked.

You can home at any time in the two-hour window; no need for everyone to show up all at the very beginning. (That’s a good thing, since parking would be an issue if that were the case. Last year, though, about 150 people participated but they spaced out and vehicles got in-and-out fairly easily.)

There’s no cost, and people aren’t required to register. Still, to give us a better sense of how many trail mix bites to have on-hand, we strongly encourage people to tell us in advance at https://secure.rec1.com/GA/city-of-milton/catalog?filter=c2VhcmNoPTM0MTE3MDQ=.
