New Providence Road is set to close in both directions on May 29 and 30 so a Fulton County Water Services crew can conduct needed repairs under and along that road.
The work should impact the water service in only four houses (each of which should be contacted by the County agency beforehand). Yet anyone driving either way in that area will be affected, forced to turn around and/or follow detours.
Thursday and Friday’s road closure will be centered near Mill Springs Academy (13660 New Providence Road). From the southern portion, people will be redirected to Dorris Road, which leads to Birmingham Highway (or they can go all the way down to State Route 140/Arnold Mill Road). In the northern section, New Providence will lead to the Birmingham Highway roundabout (which can then take you different directions, depending on where you want to go).
As with most all projects like these, weather and other factors could impact the timeline. Whenever this work happens, we very much appreciate citizens’ understanding and patience.
