City to hold 'Open House' about Legacy Park, MCPP active park projects

Post Date:06/04/2025 2:01 PM

cropped lot with courtsCome to Milton City Park and Preserve's Community Center anytime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, for an "Open House" on two upcoming active park projects:

  • The "active" component of Milton City Park and Preserve, where there will be a reconfigured parking lot (with new pavement and added parking spots), enhanced additional lighting, a new drainage system for the parking lot and tennis courts, a new playground south of the Community Center, and six redone tennis courts (two more than are there currently) along with corresponding upgrades
  • Legacy Park, located off Cox Road near the intersection of Arnold Mill Road/State Route 140, where the parking area will be expanded and reconfigured to include more parking stalls and paving the parking lot, drainage system migration and expansion, observation seating, and a memorial wall

Construction on these projects is expected to start later this year (with the same contractor handling both of them). Before any work happens, the City wanted to give citizens the opportunity to learn more and share their opinions.

That's what they can do during the June 26 "Open House." While City Engineer Scott Tkach plans to give a brief update at the start of the event, people can drop in anytime in that two-hour window to review visuals, ask questions, and share their thoughts with members of the City team.

If you have questions about either project and cannot make it to the "Open House," you can email Tkach at scott.tkach@miltonga.gov.
