Cardboard recycling bin at Bell Memorial Park now available for residents

Post Date:06/05/2025 8:45 AM
Cardboard recyclingWhile waste companies that operate in Milton pick-up cardboard for recycling, that doesn’t mean they get all of it. Sometimes you have a lot of boxes for good reasons (such as for moving, holidays, or a physically big purchase like a new TV) that all won’t fit into your home recycling bin. Or maybe you don’t want to wait until pick-up day.

If any of this resonates with you, then you’ll be very glad to hear about the City’s new large cardboard recycling bin at Bell Memorial Park.

This sits in the same area (in the park’s parking lot) as the purple Ripple Glass recycling bin. Currently, the new bin is limited to cardboard only. While we have the capacity to collect other materials, we’re starting simple.

Corrugated cardboard such as moving and shipping boxes can be dropped off in the bin. So, too, can single-layer cardboard such as cereal, gift, or shoe boxes. People should not deposit, however, any boxes that have been contaminated with food except for pizza boxes. The same goes for coated cardboard cartons such as those that once contained milk or juice.

The new cardboard product bin is one of numerous recycling options (beyond curbside pick-ups) offered in Milton, such as the recent Electronics Recycling Event and containers for hard-to-drop off items at City Hall and Milton Police station lobby.
