Citizens offer enthusiasm, quality feedback on MCPP, Legacy Park projects

Post Date:06/30/2025 5:10 PM
MCPP Active Open HouseResidents shared largely positive, enthusiastic, and in some cases constructive feedback last week on proposed improvements for two Milton parks -- Milton City Park and Preserve as well as Legacy Park -- during a special “open house” event late last week.

The MCPP focus was on its “active” component, so the 7 acres that currently contain the Community Center, City Pool, and tennis courts. Plans call for the addition of what amounts to two more courts, better lighting and other upgrades to the parking lot, and a new playground. Attendees supported another element -- a new multi-use path along Dinsmore Road that connects MCPP with the “passive” part of the park. (For more on that, visit https://cleargov.com/georgia/fulton/city/milton/projects/11065/ts2-2320-dinsmore-multiuse-path-connector-tsplost-ii.)

Residents appreciated the efficient increase in parking spaces and sought clarification on how the trail would navigate through Scott Tkach MCPP Active Open Housethe new parking area. People also seemed pleased to learn that the new project would address parking lot drainage issues.

As to Legacy Park, community members appeared happy about the plans for additional parking stalls by expanding upon and paving the entire parking lot. You can learn more about this project at
