On July 14, the intersection where Cox Road meets Etris and Ebenezer roads in southwest Milton will become an all-way stop.
This move aims to make that stretch safer in light on ongoing concerns (and a history of accidents) along Cox Road. It’s also designed to make it easier for drivers coming from Etris and Ebenezer roads to safely enter Cox Road.
The four-way stop will not be the final solution for this intersection; that will be a new roundabout (like the one also planned further up Cox Road at King Road). Still, construction of the Cox/Etris/Ebenezer roundabout likely won’t start for another 12 to 18 months. Rather than wait, the City of Milton is taking this intermediate all-way stop step.
While the City will put out additional signage in that area, confusion is common anytime there’s a traffic change like this. In the next first few weeks after its roll-out, we encourage people to be especially cautious.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and contributions to helping making Milton’s roads safer.
