Exciting developments are underway in the "North Woods" section of Milton City Park and Preserve. New trail is beginning to take shape, featuring a winding gravel path
and several boardwalks that will make it easy to explore. Numerous new trees and shrubs are being planted alongside it to add more nature, enhance the park's charm, and provide valuable shade.
Additionally, three concrete weirs are nearly complete. These will improve water quality by introducing oxygen through a series of small waterfalls leading to Chicken Creek, benefitting the fish that inhabit the area. Speaking of water, the two ponds are now connected.
Moreover, the City is considering adding floating fountains. These fountains would not only enhance the visual appeal but also keep the water fresh and lively, supporting the ecosystem in both the ponds and nearby Chicken Creek. The ponds will be

stocked by the end of the project, which will significantly benefit the local wildlife and provide another great fishing spot.
Meanwhile, preparations for underway for Phase III. This will include a 10-foot multi-use sidewalk extending from the MCPP’s parking lot to the northeastern entrance at Dinsmore Road, making it even easier for everyone to enjoy the park.
