Young outdoor enthusiasts can 'Learn to Bird' during new class

Post Date:08/11/2025 1:39 PM
Blue bird maleIt’s for the birds … and young people who love them.

That’s an apt summary of Milton’s new “Learn to Bird” class coming up later this month at Providence Park. Third- through seventh-graders can spend part of a Saturday afternoon discovering the joys of birdwatching through hands-on activities, guided walks, and interactive lessons.

By the end, they’ll be able to identify different species by sight and sound, know more about bird behaviors and habitats, and use binoculars like a pro. (BTW, binoculars will be provided. All participants should bring is water, comfortable shoes, and a thirst for exploring!)

This class will run from 1 to 3 p.m. on August 23, weather permitting. And it’s free! So no need to pay, though you need to sign-up online in advance at https://secure.rec1.com/GA/city-of-milton/catalog?filter=c2VhcmNoPTM3NDk1Mzc=
