Part of Freemanville Road to close Aug. 23, 24 for county water project

Post Date:08/21/2025 11:15 AM
Freemanville.August 23-24.2025Part of Freemanville Road will shut down in both directions most of this weekend so  Fulton County Water Services crews can do needed work.

The Freemanville closure extends between where that road hits Summit Road and the Providence Road roundabout. Detours will be in place to reroute traffic – specifically Redd Road to Hagood/Bethany Road to Providence Road for southbound traffic, and Providence Road to Bethany/Hagood Road to Redd Road for those traveling northbound.

The two-lane closure and corresponding detours are expected to start around 7 a.m. Saturday, August 23, with all of Freemanville Road expected to reopen around 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 24. That said, as is typical with roadwork projects, weather and other factors could impact the timeline.

This closure will allow Fulton County works to safely add a watermain connection that should improve water pressure to homes in this area.

Drivers in this area should give themselves extra time to get wherever they need to go this weekend, including those on the detour routes. Residents who lived in the closed-off portion of Freemanville will be able to get in-and-out of their homes.

Thank you for your understanding and (in advance) patience!
