Fire CARES offers free public wellness checks through December

Post Date:10/03/2025 9:10 AM
Wellness Check HofmannAs we move into fall, it’s a great time to refocus – especially on our health.

To support that progress, Milton Fire CARES will offer free public wellness clinics from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates and locations:
  • Wednesday, OCTOBER 8 at Community Place (2006 Heritage Walk, next to City Hall)
  • Tuesday, OCTOBER 14 at Fire Station 44 (13690 Highway 9 in the Milton Public Safety Complex)
  • Wednesday, NOVEMBER 5 at Community Place
  • Tuesday, DECEMBER 2 at Community Place
  • Tuesday, DECEMBER 9 at Fire Station 44
  • Wednesday, DECEMBER 17 at Community Place
(Note: The once-scheduled November 11 clinic won't happen because of the Veterans Day holiday.)

Derek Hofmann – a Milton firefighter, registered nurse, paramedic, and Fire CARES member – will lead these clinics. Anyone can have their glucose levels gauged, their blood pressure checked, or their heart rate measured with electrocardiograms (EKGs). Armed with that vital information, people can then be better equipped to proactively get needed medical care (potentially avoiding emergency room visits and hospital stays down the line).

No appointments are necessary, just drop by and our team will take care of the rest. (For that reason, it’s possible there may slight delays if someone is ahead of you.) Note: There's now a gate by Fire Station 44/the police station, but people can park nearby.

These wellness checks are among several valuable public services offered through Milton Fire CARES, the Fire-Rescue Department’s outreach and assistance program that bridges the gap between emergency care and everyday health care needs. To learn more, visit www.miltonga.gov/FireCARES.
