  • Tuesday, October 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for a CPR only class
  • Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to noon for a combined CPR and “Stop the Bleed” session
  • Saturday, October 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. for another CPR/”Stop the Bleed” combo class

Each free session at Milton Fire Station 43 (750 Hickory Flat Road) is limited to 12 participants apiece. To claim your spot before they run out, go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094AA8A72AA3FCC34-47955699-cprinperson#/.

People will get hands-on training led by firefighters associated with Milton Fire CARES, which is a mobile integrated health program that provides services to the community. Part of CARES’ mission is public education opportunities like these classes to give citizens invaluable expertise they can use to step in immediately during a medical crisis. (For more, visit www.miltonga.gov/FireCARES.)

Those participating in the three October classes will NOT receive formal certifications afterward. Nonetheless, they will leave better equipped to take what they learn and apply it during an emergency.

If you have questions about this or other Fire CARES programs, contact Milton Firefighter, Paramedic, and Registered Nurse Derek Hofmann at derek.hofmann@miltonga.gov.
