DRB to consider 6 demolition requests, some on City properties

13490 Hopewell house demoMilton’s Design Review Board on Tuesday will consider six demolition requests – three of them involving City properties – as well as finalize its meeting schedule for next year.

The December 2 meeting will start at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers, open to anyone who wants to attend in-person. People can also watch online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvkciU5ZuZA.

As a part of Milton’s public meeting process, the Design Review Board reviews building design as well as requests for approval of building demolitions. Its seven appointed members make recommendations to the City’s Community Development Director on new site development, new construction, and certain alterations to existing structures.

Several demolition requests are on Tuesday’s agenda, specifically to demolish:

  • Lakhapani Greenspace houseA ranch-style house and three accessory structures at 13490 HOPEWELL ROAD, a 3.97-acre property near Bethany Bend
  • Another ranch-style home and two outbuildings at 14750 HOPEWELL ROAD, a 2.92-acre near Francis and Cogburn roads where a new home is being planned
  • A split-level home with a shed at 13580 HOPEWELL ROAD, which is part of a City of Milton greenspace
  • A deteriorating house and detached garage at 1000 LACKEY ROAD that are well into 104.6-acre Lakhapani Preserve (while a red shed would remain)
  • A house, carport, and two sheds on a 2.48-acre City-owned parcel at 2545 BETHANY BEND, which is adjacent to North Park
  • An 872-square foot house, accessory structures, and a gravel driveway at 13995 HOPEWELL ROAD, a 2.48-acre lot south of Redd Road

There are no Courtesy Reviews, Final Reviews, or New Business items on Tuesday’s agenda. But the DRB will revisit, and vote on approving, its 2026 meeting schedule.
