City Council will hold a joint session Monday with the Milton Trails Advisory Committee to discuss the Milton Trail Plan.
The December 8 meeting will start at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. City Council already had a Work Session planned for that time and place, so this will be in place of that. People can attend in-person or watch online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_moDrjLdZOM.
The City has had a Milton Trail Plan Map since 2007 to guide the buildout of Milton’s trails system. This Trail Plan Map has been updated several times, most recently in 2017.

Several years ago, Council voted to revive the Milton Trails Advisory Committee (MTAC) to spearhead trail related efforts. MTAC members have been meeting regularly since then to discuss trails, examine previous trail maps and recommend potential additions or subtractions.
The City Council discussed the MTAC proposed Milton Trail Blueprint updates at its November 17 meeting. On that evening, the Council withdrew a pair of items related to the Blueprint and directed City staff to connect with the Milton Trails Advisory Committee. That paved the way for Monday’s joint work session involving both groups.
This joint work session between the City Council and MTAC will provide an opportunity to review the background and timeline of Milton’s trail-related plans, discuss steps for moving forward with map updates and additional outreach, and establish a framework for trail project identification, prioritization, and expanded public engagement.
