Post Date:01/21/2026 2:24 PM

Mayfield Road multi-use pathThe Milton Trails Advisory Committee convenes late Thursday afternoon to, among other things, consider potential revisions to the draft Milton Trail Blueprint.

The January 22 meeting will begin at 4:45 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. All are welcome to attend in-person or watch online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQW7MCfezd4.

Made up of seven members appointed by the Mayor and Councilmembers, the Milton Trails Advisory Committee focuses on the City trails system – including its sidewalks and multi-use paths. Members of MTAC, as this group is also known, share their insights, advice, and opinions with City staff and leadership.

For the past year, MTAC’s work has largely centered around the Milton Trail Blueprint. A part of City Code, this shows current and possibly future multi-use paths and sidewalks all around Milton. The City has had such a citywide trail plan map since 2007, and it has been updated several times since (most recently in 2020). One of MTAC’s charges has been recommending the latest such update for City Council consideration.

Lakhapani trailThe committee produced such a draft update in late 2025. Their proposal blueprint came before the City Council and was discussed at-length, including during a joint “work session” on December 8 with MTAC. On Thursday, City staff will seek the Milton Trails Advisory Committee’s input on potential revisions to the draft Trails Blueprint based off valuable public input and Council direction.

MTAC will then talk about, and share their thoughts on, how new trail projects should be prioritized accounting for existing funding. Staff will also review, with the committee members, the proposed process for establishing updated priorities.

This will be followed by a discussion about current and future trails inside Milton’s passive park spaces, which also fall under MTAC’s purview.

Also on Thursday – with this being the first meeting of 2026 – MTAC will select its Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary to serve over the course of this year.
