Milton’s latest Citizens Government Academy is officially in session!
The engaging, learning, and community-building began Tuesday night in Community Place, when 2026 class members met with City leaders and learned more about the (other) important meetings that happen across the plaza in City Hall's Council Chambers, as well as Milton as a whole.
Mayor Peyton Jamison welcomed the group, with City Manager Steve Krokoff and Deputy City Manager Stacey Inglis following with an introduction to the City of Milton government’s overall. City Clerk Tammy Lowit had a starring role, too, explaining City Council’s vital role and explaining how to get details on every matter that it will take up.
The class also got a special visit from Mary Cronk and Lynn Tinley of the Milton Historical Society, who took a step back to put the whole of Milton and its past into perspective.
And this is just the start. For seven more weeks, the Citizens Government Academy will dive deeper into all aspects of City government with sessions at various facilities, presentations from leaders of every City department, and plenty of opportunities to participate in exercises, ask questions, and generally become more knowledgeable about what Milton is all about.
While the 2026 cohort is full, people can sign-up anytime for future years by going to
