Milton’s City Council will convene Monday for a Special Called Meeting that will feature a discussion about the subdividing of land and the scope of improvements in the AG-1 zoning district, along with a vote to potentially extend a related moratorium.
The Mayor and Councilmembers will convene at 6 p.m. on February 9 in City Hall’s Council Chambers. They’ll do so in a Special Called Meeting – rather than the previously scheduled Work Session – which gives them the ability to cast conclusive votes. Anyone can attend in person or watch online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMi1_VVGgfM.
City staff will share information on AG-1 residential property trends and outline potential next steps, including possible zoning text amendments. No votes will be taken on those amendments at this meeting, but Council may provide direction to staff.
Following the presentation, Council will vote on whether to extend the current moratorium that pauses applications to subdivide AG-1 property into three or fewer lots where the resulting lots are less than three acres. Subdivisions creating more than three lots, and large-lot subdivisions with lots of three acres or more, are not currently included in the moratorium.
After Monday’s meeting, the Council is next scheduled to convene for a Regular Meeting on February 18. This falls on a Wednesday because of the President’s Day holiday.
