Team Milton grateful after going through Summit Hill's 'Kindness Tunnel'

Post Date:02/17/2026 8:38 AM

#Chorus and City stuff DSC_0242When it comes to love and kindness, the Summit Hill Elementary community gets straight As.

And members of the City of Milton family are the lucky beneficiaries, basking in these good vibes while traversing the “Kindness Tunnel” at the Fulton County school last Friday.

The Tunnel culminated Kindness Week at Summit Hill. In the days leading up to it, young Huskies created uplifting “Coffee Notes” and had meaningful conversations about how they can better understand and positively impact others’ feelings.

Last Friday morning, Milton Police School Liaison Officers Shi-Peng Ma and Scott Sanford, Councilmember Brian Dolan, and Mayor Peyton Jamison joined in that feel-good spirit by warmly welcoming students as they entered the school. Then, not long after the opening bell, students returned the favor during the Kindness Tunnel.

They lined the walls holding up signs and handing out high-fives to police officers, firefighters, City Hall staff, and others – like Fulton County School Board #Kids DSC_0171member Lillie Pozatek and Councilmember Juliette Johnson, who joined Dolan and Jamison – who followed a peppy Huskie mascot. The walk ended with the Summit Hill chorus’ stirring rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Count on Me” for their guests.

And, as if we couldn’t be spoiled enough, the Summit Hill family (thank you PTA!) fed the City team members breakfast, coffee, and donuts – though the real treat was reading some of the dozens of appreciative, upbeat signs that students created especially for them.

THANK YOU to Principal Stefi Slewitzke and everyone else at Summit Hill for inviting us to your school and the awesome outpouring of kindness! We’re grateful to you and the entire Milton community.
