2nd Public Input Forum on AG-1 zoning, plat process to occur March 12

Post Date:03/06/2026 10:30 AM

New home lot Citizens are invited to join the conversation about potential updates to Milton’s plat process and AG-1 zoning and lot development standards at a special Public Input Forum later this month.

Public Input Forum

  • Thursday, March 12 at 6 p.m. (about 1.5 hours)
  • City Hall’s Council Chambers (2006 Heritage Walk)
  • Open to the public and recorded

This forum is one of several opportunities – and follows a similar midday event held on February 25 – for residents, property owners, and stakeholders to listen, learn, and share constructive feedback as the City evaluates possible AG-1 code updates and development standards. (To watch the February 25 forum, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7dhFM05Wv0&t.)

The meeting will begin with a brief staff presentation offering a broad overview of rural character as envisioned in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, development trends, AG-1 lot development standards, and the specific issues being considered. The heart of the forum will be structured public comment and moderated open dialogue focused on receiving input. To allow for broad participation, comments may be time-limited.

All are welcome to attend. This is not a public hearing, and no decisions will be made. (To that point, no members of Boards, Committees, or City Council will be present in an official capacity.) There will be no formal Q and A or debate. The primary goal is for City staff to listen and learn from the community. The forum is expected to last about 1.5 hours.

People will have additional opportunities to share their input on this topic in the coming weeks, particularly if and when any potential City Code text amendments work their way through the public meeting process. This includes two meetings later this month, both in City Hall’s Council Chambers:

  • Community Zoning Information Meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24
  • Planning Commission Meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25

We encourage residents, property owners, and stakeholders to attend, listen, and share their constructive feedback as part of this structured input process.
