Safety in Action team engages with citizens at back-to-back events
Post Date:03/24/2026 1:38 PM
Milton's Safety in Action team’s hyper-focus on public engagement has been evident two-times over the past few days – all part of our sincere commitment to getting citizens’ input while crafting safety-minded recommendations.
On Saturday, our group mingled with many of the thousands attending the Community Egg Hunt. We followed that up on Monday night with a special Open House at City Hall, at which about 50 residents looked at and shared thoughts on draft conceptual ideas for potential improvements up and down Hopewell and Freemanville roads. (You can see those online by CLICKING HERE.)
Improving safety for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists on those key north-south corridors is one of the three prongs of the largely federally funded Safety in Action initiative. The others are creation an Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan and testing traffic operational and safety countermeasures at two Hopewell Road roundabouts (at Bethany Bend and Thompson Road) that could inform similar efforts citywide.
Even if you didn’t recently share your opinions and insights in-person, you still have a prime opportunity to tell us what you think by taking our latest survey. That can be accessed at www.miltonga.gov/SafetyInActionSurvey.
