Post Date:04/13/2026 1:08 PM

Birmingham Highway 800 foot residence demoMilton’s Design Review Board will meet Tuesday evening to consider a pair of demolition requests.

People can attend the April 14 meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., in City Hall’s Council Chambers. Or they can watch it online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQLgenJwYGc

Also known as DRB, the Design Review Board consists of seven appointed members who make recommendations to the City’s Community Development Director on new site development, new construction, and certain alterations to existing structures. The Board also conducts courtesy reviews on requests for variances from the City Code as part of the public meeting process (meaning other committees may take up the same items).

In addition, the Design Review Board votes on demolition requests made to the City. Two of these are on Tuesday’s agenda.

The first relates to 15385 Birmingham Highway, which is southwest of Nix Road and northeast of Colonnade Way. The applicant is asking to demolish a roughly 800-square foot house and two barns on this 3.53-acre parcel. (This same item had been on the DRB’s March 3 agenda, only to be deferred.)

The other demolition request pertains to 16075 Old Henderson Road, located off Henderson Road in northern Milton. The applicant is asking to demolish a roughly 1,140-square foot residence on that 1.69-acre property so that it can be replaced with a new, appreciably larger one. The removal of a small shed is part of the same request.

After Tuesday, Milton’s Design Review Board is next scheduled to convene on May 5.
