Teenagers interested in entering or advancing in the workforce – whether it’s a part-time job or a long-term career – are encouraged to attend a free special workshop this Saturday.
The Teen Workforce Readiness Workshop aims to provide advice, resources, or direction to those in this age category so they’re better equipped to find, earn, and excel at jobs in any number industries. This April 25 event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in and around Community Place, the small building next to Milton’s City Hall (2006 Heritage Walk). There are no RSVPs required; any teen is welcome to drop-in anytime in that three-hour window.
The City of Milton is partnering with the North Fulton alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority to offer this educational opportunity. It replaces – for now – a Teen Job Fair that had once been planned for around this time, but will now more likely happen in late summer or the fall. Companies in attendance this Saturday, though, may still share teen-appropriate job opportunities for the summer of 2026.
This workshop’s primary goal is helping teenagers get ready for their next, likely still to be determined job opportunity. To that end, there will be a station (in a covered area on one side of City Hall, just opposite Community Place) where experts will offer insights to craft and improve resumes. (So teens interested in this service can bring paper copies of their resumes for review.)
Local business leaders and other professionals, meanwhile, will hold three sessions for teens focused on interview preparation and workforce readiness. These will occur at the following times:
- Session 1 – 11 to 11:45 a.m.
- Session 2 – Noon to 12:45 p.m.
- Session 3 – 1 to 1:45 p.m.
Parents and teens, please help spread the word about this valuable, potentially life-changing event!
