The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee will conduct its fourth meeting on Thursday with a dual focus on transportation and sustainability.
The May 7 meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. People can come in-person or watch the meeting online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7weFBMegaxA.
Milton’s Comprehensive Plan is a detailed, community-driven, living document that helps guide certain future decisions, projects, and policies. The City did a full-scale rewrite of this important document five years ago. The scope for the revision being created now is much more limited. The 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update will incorporate aspects of other City-adopted plans from the past five years, give the latest economic and demographic data, and outline a new priority project list (aka a “short-term work program”). The latter list will align with the vision outlined in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

Also known as CPAC, the 16-member Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee has met regularly to discuss elements of this document update and to make recommendations to City leaders about what goes in it. They touch on different topics every meeting; previous ones include housing-related issues and opportunities, economic development, branding, and placemaking.
At Thursday’s meeting, CPAC members will start by talking about transportation in Milton –namely, what might be done to make getting around the city by car, bicycle, or on foot safer, easier, and more convenient.
Then the committee will dive into the topic of sustainability. This can cover topics such as solid waste management (including recycling), conservation, and other green initiatives.
After Thursday, the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee’s next meeting is scheduled for June 4.
