Splash 'N Bash kicks off summer with fun inside and out

Post Date:05/26/2026 6:06 PM
Kids in PoolThe City kicked off our summer this past Saturday with splashing and sliding, creating and eating, and a whole lot more.

A little intermittent drizzle didn’t stop a steady stream of people from enjoying Splash ‘N Bash on May 23 at Milton City Park and Preserve. This has become an anticipated Milton tradition of opening the City Pool for the season with a fun, family-friendly flourish.

Besides staying dry, many of the 150 or so attendees who spent time inside the Community Center participated in hands-on activities involving LEGOs (thank you Play-Well TEKnowledgies) and art (we see you Little Breaks!) At least when those hands weren’t holding some fresh-made cotton candy. And Kidokinetics made the most of the available indoor space by leading little ones to play sports and Bouncy Castle Slidegames.

Off-and-on wet weather or not, plenty of people went swimming in the pool and got wet while toddling around “the mushroom.” Kids who ventured on the slide – one of two giant inflatables, along with an obstacle course, set up in the parking lot – even welcomed any extra water from above, as it made their rides down that much slicker.

A big shout-out, too, to Milton Fire Corps volunteers who cooked and served up free hot dogs for young and old!

While we don’t have all those extra activities all the time, the City Pool (at 1785 Dinsmore Road) remains a great place to kick back, cool off, and let loose any day through Labor Day. For information about it – like hours, pool pass rates, and more – go to www.miltonga.gov/Pool.
