The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has signaled Milton is in line for a $200,000 grant to help fund upgrades at Birmingham Park. But before that money is distributed, that State agency and we in the City want to hear from you.
To learn more about this project and to share your feedback, go to www.miltonga.gov/BirminghamParkProject. The form should take just a few minutes to complete and submit.
On that webpage, you’ll find what’s in the overall project plan including adding a prefabricated restroom facility, rerouting two trail segments to make them safer, replacing a small bridge, and adding some parking spaces (including two that are ADA-compliant).
For a clickable PDF version showing the broader project site plan, CLICK HERE. If you want to view a more focused version (where much of the activity will take place) that shows the parking and new restroom area, CLICK HERE.
Public input will be collected via this webpage over the next several weeks, with all of it being shared with DNR. The $200,000 grant would cover roughly half of the project’s overall cost.
