Milton’s Design Review Board will meet Tuesday evening to conduct a courtesy review for new townhomes off Broadwell Road as well as vote on a request to demolish a shed and stable.

Referred to as DRB, the Design Review Board consists of seven appointees who make recommendations to Milton’s Community Development Director about new site development, new construction, and certain alterations to existing structures. The board is also part of the public meeting process – so other City committees consider some of the same items, like courtesy reviews for variances from City Code.

The Design Review Board is also the sole City committee to vote on demolition requests. The lone such example on Tuesday’s agenda pertains to 15750 Freemanville Road, which is just north of Birmingham Road. The applicant is asking to demolish a shed and stable, both built in 1990, on their 16.33-acre property.

The DRB agenda’s other item is a courtesy review – specifically, a building review – for the Urbandale Townhomes for 12475 Broadwell Road south of Mayfield Road and Broadwell Pavilion near the City of Alpharetta line. The applicant is seeking to construct three sets of townhomes on the 7.06-acre parcel.

After this meeting, the Design Review Board is next scheduled to convene on July 7.
