The July 14 meeting begins at 5 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers (2006 Heritage Walk). Anyone can watch the meeting online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ri5TEI9ZAY or attend it in-person.

Members of this committee (known as MSAC), who are appointed by Milton’s Mayor and Council, share their opinions, expertise, and insights with City staff and leadership on sustainability and environmental programs, policies, and initiatives.

Much of their work has centered on helping develop the City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Management Plan. This document looks forward 10 years to outline how the City can manage as well as improve consistency in solid waste collection and disposal, in addition to making progress citywide toward sustainability goals.

Discussion of this RSWMP plan will be the committee’s first order of business Tuesday (after approving the “minutes” from its last meeting). To learn more about this important project, go to www.miltonga.gov/RSWMP

This update will be followed by a discussion of companies that are approved solid waste haulers in Milton. City staff will share details of recent hauler-related reports and various data.

Tuesday’s meeting will close with committee members sharing their own relevant updates on various developments related to sustainability, solid waste, and more.

After Tuesday, MSAC is next scheduled to meet on August 11.
