Several valuable improvements are nearing completion at the Cogburn Road/Webb Road/Windward Parkway intersection – just in time for the start of the new school year.

 

The eastern side of Cogburn has been widened to allow for the creation of a dedicated left turn lane there. This will be helpful for those coming from that direction to head toward Hopewell Middle School, Cogburn Woods Elementary School, or the St. Francis School. And because of this, those heading straight or turning right won’t have to wait behind those planning to go left (onto what’s also Cogburn Road).

 

Meanwhile, another new left turn has been added on Webb Road on the opposite side of the same intersection. This will be for vehicles wishing to turn onto Windward Parkway.

 

To accommodate these upgrades, the existing traffic signals will be adjusted in the coming days to reflect the pair of new left-turn options. Crews also plan to pave some of the affected areas at the end of this week to get everything operational before the August 3 school start.
