The City of Milton's Parks and Recreation Department develops and maintains parks and recreational offerings that draw visitors and enhance the well-being of Milton residents. The City has several parks for "active" use with fields, playgrounds, trails and other amenities, and it partners with providers for a variety of programming available to the residents of Milton. Click HERE for an interactive map showing all these facilities, as well as which ones have specific features.
The Parks and Recreation Department -- led by Director Tom McKlveen, CPRP -- coordinates a wide array of athletic, arts, outdoor recreation, camps, adult, fitness, and other programs. Some of these are run directly by the City, while others are led by program providers who partner with Milton Parks and Rec.
The department also includes Community Outreach, which plans and executes City-sponsored events, which includes holiday events and community programs, such as the Citizens Government Academy and Comprehensive Summer Internship Program. Many special events are delivered in partnership with area businesses, local non-profit organizations and community groups. These events are made possible through revenue collected as part of the local Hotel-Motel Tax and, in-part, by the generosity of sponsors. These special events unite and create a sense of community and belonging in Milton. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year. For either, contact Community Outreach Manager Emily Salerno at emily.salerno@miltonga.gov.
