It depends on how close the trees are to the water source, but probably not. There is a 50-foot undisturbed buffer/state waters requirement, with no disturbance within the buffer allowed. Violators could be subject to penalties from the City of Milton and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

A tree removal permit is required for the removal of any 15” DBH or larger or any tree planted as a buffer or zoning requirement. Tree replacement will be required for trees planted in zoning buffers or per zoning requirements.

Yes. There is a $25 application fee per healthy tree removed with a maximum fee of $150. The fee does not apply to dead or unhealthy trees.
