AED at Fire 44Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) save lives. That's why the City of Milton Fire-Rescue is making it easier to access.

Whether you're attending a sporting event, family reunion, picnic, or other gathering where AED availability may be a concern, we invite you to reserve an AED from us.

These AEDs are lightweight, compact, easy to transport, and simple to use.

How It Works

Along with hands-only CPR, AEDs are a critical tool in helping someone who is experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. An AED will determine if the person’s heart is in a shockable rhythm and it will deliver a shock to the patient, if necessary.

If you witness a cardiac arrest, first call 911 and have someone begin hands-only CPR. Hands-only CPR is performed by placing both of your hands on the center of the patient's chest and pressing hard and fast until someone else can take over for you.

While hands-only CPR is underway, a second person turns on the AED. The AED is designed to give simple, easy-to-follow instructions.

The AEDs provided by the City of Milton Fire-Rescue provide step-by-step voice instructions.

When everyday people act through hands-only CPR and using an AED, they help to increase the chances of survival for someone in cardiac arrest.
