AED UseImmediately performing CPR can double or even triple the chances of survival of someone suffering cardiac arrest. Knowing that and wanting to protect our community, the Milton Fire-Rescue Department has partnered with the American Red Cross to offer an official CPR Certification program.

Participants will spend hours – four of them online, plus two in-person taught by a Milton firefighter – amassing knowledge and practicing skills that they can use to save lives of those around them.  (The total cost for the entire program, certificate included, is $45.)

Thanks to the Milton First Responders Foundation for helping coordinate this American Red Cross – Basic Life Support certification.

This program is one of many spearheaded by Milton Fire-Rescue to generate the AED at MCPPbest possible outcomes for those suffering cardiac emergencies. Many of these are run through Milton Fire CARES, which provides health services, education, and more directly to our community. (For more info, go to www.miltonga.gov/FireCARES.) Details on such offerings are shared on the City's Facebook page, the Fire Department's Facebook page, and the City's website calendar.

These cumulative efforts led, in 2026, to Milton being named just one of two Heart Safe Community Awards winners nationwide by the International Association of Fire Chiefs. (Read more about the prestigious honor by clicking HERE.)

CPR classes are open to Milton community members 12-years and older. If you have any questions about this educational initiative or any other program, please contact Milton Fire Cares at 770-686-0948 or fire.cares@miltonga.gov.
