In accordance with state law, the City is required to keep all applications and resumes for a period of two years. However, once the job vacancy is closed and someone is hired, none of the remaining applications are reviewed for future openings. Resumes or applications are accepted only for advertised job vacancies.

After the closing date of the particular job vacancy, all applications are reviewed by Human Resources, the hiring supervisor and/or the designated department coordinator. Persons who do not meet the minimum requirements will be removed from consideration. Testing requirements are in place for several jobs. Fire and police applicants are given testing dates during the time the city is recruiting entry-level cadets.
