What is the Wall of Fame?

+ Peyton speakingThe purpose of Milton Parks & Recreation Wall of Fame is to recognize and honor deserving participants, coaches and contributors to Milton parks and recreation programs -- both before and after the City's incorporation. Honorees have their names onto the Wall of Fame located at Bell Memorial Park.

Who is on it?

Those in the seventh class, honored on October 25, 2025, are:

  • Chris Rech, a longtime and legendary coach in youth baseball (through Hopewell) and football (including Cambridge's feeder program)
  • Juan and Katie Salas, a husband-wife pair heavily involved for years in Hopewell Baseball, the program Juan led for nearly a decade
  • Maureen "Mo" Wales, who helped special needs individuals experiences the joys and benefits of sports through the Special Olympics and Fulton County Schools
  • David Winsness, a founding member of the Eagle Stix girls lacrosse who served in many roles and formed a pivotal connection between the program and City of Milton

The three members of the sixth class -- formally inducted on October 26, 2024 -- are:

  • Lydia Cassada, a leading scorer in Milton High's and Eagle Stix storied girls lacrosse programs who lettered all four years at Northwestern University
  • Cole McNamee, a pitcher and first basemen who starred for Hopewell Baseball, Blessed Trinity, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech
  • Bob Rech, a coach who led hundreds of young athletes on youth baseball and football squads (including several Cambridge High feeder teams)

These individuals were honored in a October 28, 2023, ceremony as members of the fifth class:

  • Dylan Cease, a pitcher who started at Bell Memorial Park and Milton High, then soared into the Major Leagues with the Chicago White Sox (placing second in 2022 A.L. Cy Young voting)
  • Bridget Deehan, one of the most decorated in Milton's storied girls lacrosse history including as a 3-time state champion at Milton High before playing for Notre Dame University
  • Kyle Farnsworth, another Milton High School graduate and pitcher who played in the Major Leagues for nine teams during 16 seasons - racking up 963 strikeouts in almost as many innings thrown
  • Les Kuykendall, a volunteer coach who led about 40 baseball teams, six basketball teams, and over 20 football teams (the latter including three state champ Cambridge High feeder squads)
  • Korinne Raby Muller, a standout softball player at Milton High School who went onto an impressive Division I collegiate career at the University of Pennsylvania

The fourth class of inductees honored at an October 29, 2022, ceremony were:

  • McKenzie Kurtz, a star in Milton High theatre circles who has gone on to prominent roles on Broadway, in an NBC television production, and touring theatrical shows
  • Callie O'Connor, the single-season goal scoring record holder for Milton High girls soccer who went on to success in college and professionally
  • Nathan Riech, who now goes by Nate Gray Wolf, a former standout runner for Milton High who came a gold-medalist winning, record-hold Paralympian
  • Ken Sisson, the president of the Hopewell Youth Association when its then-humble Bell Memorial Park home was transformed to the gem it is today

... which happened about a year after the induction of the third class, specifically:

  • Chase Coleman, a Milton High star in basketball (reaching 4 state championship games, including titles in 2010 and 2012) and football captain who played that sport at Stetson University
  • Jim Cregge, a former Hopewell Youth Association president who helped transform first Bell Park and then became Director of the Milton Parks and Recreation Department
  • Jeff Fester, who was heavily involved in the Hopewell baseball program as a coach and founder of the Hopewell Hawks, the travel-team component of the program
  • Tim Lester, a NFL standout for three teams known as "The Bus Driver" who settled in Milton, where he impacted hundreds as a coach, mentor, and inspirational figure on and off the football field
  • Kyle Sloter, who developed as a quarterback in Milton's feeder program before playing for Mt. Pisgah Christian School, two colleges, and five NFL teams

They joined the second class of inductees:

  • Jack Dunn, a Washington Nationals draftee who got his start with Hopewell Baseball
  • Ron Hill, a late coach, teacher and member of Milton's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board 
  • Van Kottis, a PRAB member instrumental in Bell Park's transformation and Milton Steelers football
  • Amanda Marshall, a Milton High softball standout who played at Nicholls State
  • Ryan Stachler, a golf state champ for both Milton and Cambridge high schools who played the 2016 U.S. Open 
  • Todd Michael Strada, a four-time state men's gymnastics champ at Milton High who rose to No. 2 in the NCAA while attending the University of Iowa
  • Tessa (Lynam) Whittington, a Milton High softball legend who played at Louisiana State and Baylor

... and these six inaugural inductees:

  • Tim Godby, the legendary girls lacrosse coach at Milton High School
  • Ryan Gridley, an infielder at Mississippi State and the Oakland A's system
  • Collin McHugh, a Major League pitcher and World Series champ with the 2017 Houston Astros
  • Evan Nolte, a basketball standout who played four years at the University of Virginia
  • Michael Nugent, a lacrosse goalie who played professionally in Boston and Denver
  • Lydia Witkowski, a star softball outfielder at Georgia Southern and Hofstra universities
