A hands-on look at what it takes to serve and protect.
Are you between the ages of 14 and 19 and curious about a career in law enforcement? The Milton Police Department's Teen Police Academy gives you a real look at what officers do every day. This free, week-long program offers teens an immersive, behind-the-scenes experience with real officers, real tools, and real training.
Beyond just lectures, this program builds understanding and trust between young people and law enforcement through connection, experience, and honest conversation.
What to Expect:
Each day brings something new. From hands-on activities to real-life simulations, participants will experience a wide range of law enforcement topics, including:
- Guided tour of the Milton Police Department
- Police gear and equipment demonstrations
- Use of force discussion and scenario simulator
- Intro to Criminal Investigations
- SWAT team and dispatch presentations
- First aid and CPR training
- Active Shooter Protocol
- DUI and field sobriety testing
- Rollover simulator seat belt convincer
- Speed detection and traffic stop scenarios
- Accident reconstruction
- Situational awareness and personal safety tips
How to Apply:
There's no cost to participate, but spots are limited.
Preference is given to Milton residents, but teens outside Milton can apply if space allows.
